Considerations When Selecting New Flooring

With the world in recovery mode since the COVID-19 pandemic, travel is on the up-tick and hotel general managers are looking at ways to help people feel safe and comfortable. Business travel is slowly coming back as well. We've had several discussions with hospitality general managers considering new flooring for their hotel ballrooms, banquet rooms, convention center, and meeting rooms.

Whether you are looking at flooring options for residential or commercial purposes, there are many factors to consider before making a decision on flooring. These factors include the ambience of the room, the statement you want to make, the attractiveness of the flooring, the cost, the durability, and the maintenance required to keep the flooring looking like new. The Flooring Resource is ready to provide guidance on finding the perfect flooring choice for your venue.

It’s important to choose flooring that can stand up to high foot traffic (durability), is stain resistant, and can easily be sanitized. There are many choices of flooring available for these high traffic areas. Options include: carpeting, carpet tiles, waterproof vinyl planks, and laminate flooring.

All of these options have different appeal.

•Carpeting – We offer a wide range of styles to choose from. Carpeting is also comfortable, provides warmth and helps to absorb noise. This is also a lower cost option.

•Carpeting tiles – Carpet tiles can be used in many different patterns and combinations enabling quite a few design possibilities, they are cost effective, they are quick to install, and they are easy to replace if a tile is damaged.

•Waterproof vinyl planks – This choice is 100% waterproof, easy to clean, stain resistant, and very durable. This choice allows you to achieve the look of wood or stone flooring without the upkeep or cost. Waterproof vinyl plank flooring looks luxurious, is long lasting, is stain and scratch resistant, is comfortable to walk on, and costs less than wood or stone.

•Laminate flooring – This flooring is easy to clean, stain resistant, and durable. This choice also allows you to create a wood look without the hassle. Laminate flooring looks elegant, is easy to maintain, and lasts under high foot traffic. This product is water resistant but not waterproof.

No matter your decision, The Flooring Resource can help guide you through the many flooring options available.
